The number of new COVID-19 cases in Sebastian is on the rise, and we probably won’t know the full totals from the testing site at the Barber Sports Complex for another few days.
As we previously reported, my wife and I contracted COVID-19 on Oct. 22. We are now recovering after 10 days of vomiting, severe diarrhea, loss of appetite, and high fevers. For us, this virus is far worse than any flu.
We got relaxed with our mask wearing when going out to restaurants or bars. We let our guard down and contracted the virus. A huge regret. We lost our taste, which most people do from the virus. A lot of people don’t regain their taste back for a few months.
Please follow the CDC guidelines by washing your hands, social distancing, and wearing a mask whenever you can’t social distance. Don’t make the same mistake.
Florida was topping 15,000 cases per day until people started wearing a mask, which slowed down the virus. The number of deaths also dropped as a result. Masks have proven to slow the spread of COVID-19 in other states and in Europe.
Please don’t wear the same mask day after day or you will get a bacteria infection, or possibly worse, pneumonia. Wearing a mask protects you and others.
You can still live your life and be safe.
