The Saturday, April 4, 2020, update still shows 3 confirmed cases in Sebastian and now 50 in Indian River County.
There are 6 non-residents who tested positive for the virus in the county, and about 515 people tested negative for coronavirus.
The county patients are 30 men and 20 women ages 8 to 88.
There are 10 patients in the hospital. There are no reported deaths in Indian River County from COVID-19.
Many people are taking the pandemic seriously, wearing masks and gloves when walking the local parks or shopping at stores.
It is highly recommended not to leave your home if you are 65 or older, or have an illness or chronic condition.
We ask that you do not throw plastic and latex gloves on the ground, or leave them in shopping carts. By not disposing of them properly, you are putting other people at risk.
Yesterday, we spoke with Sebastian Mayor Ed Dodd during our most recent Sebastian TV Newscast. The Mayor tells us the city is safe and is asking everyone to comply with the CDC guidelines.
Sebastian parks and boat ramps remain open. However, the playgrounds at all parks in the county are closed.
