Sebastian COVID-19 Cases Remain Low

Sebastian, Florida Coronavirus Update.

Sebastian, Florida Coronavirus Update.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Sebastian remain low, about 16 per day. The number of deaths in Florida also remain low.

However, there have been 18 people this week who have died after contracting COVID-19 in Indian River County, and at least 2 people have died on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021.

On Tuesday, the Indian River County Commission voted 4-1 to extend its mask mandate for at least another six months. Commissioner Joe Flescher was the only commissioner who didn’t agree.

“I can’t support something that has no consequences for not wearing a mask. This isn’t a true mandate,” Flescher said.

However, Flescher also said there are “opinions” and “science” to support each side of the mask debate.

Please do your part in the community and follow the CDC guidelines. Please social distance and wear a mask when gathering in crowds.
