The Sebastian Police Department, lead by Chief Michelle Morris, is taking extra precautions at this time to help keep the spread of the Coronavirus under control.
Designated Police Officers, Officer Jason Gillette, and Officer Donald Hart are making sure that essential businesses that are allowed to remain open such as grocery stores, gas stations, banks, restaurants, are complying with the CDC’s guidelines.
As of March 21, 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has implemented updated guidelines to slow the spread of the virus, such as cleaning, disinfecting, and conducting social distancing.
In addition, the Sebastian Police Officers are making sure that non-essential businesses such as bars and gyms are keeping their doors closed.
Many local businesses such as Publix, Winn Dixie, Walmart, and many restaurants have shortened their business hours, so they have time to disinfect thoroughly.
