The Sebastian River Moose Lodge, located at 9250 U.S. Highway 1, has canceled its annual New Year’s Eve party due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
“This is with a grave heart that I must decide like this. Effective today, the Sebastian River Moose Lodge’s New Year’s Eve Party is canceled,” spokesperson Gary Sibert said.
Sibert says the kitchen help and volunteers have contracted the COVID-19 virus. Some of the volunteers are in the hospital.
“At this time, we have 18 known cases in our Lodge, and it is increasing. Some are home recovering, and some are in the hospital,” Sibert said.
The Lodge is expected to reopen after New Year’s Eve, and there will be more information available in the coming days.
