After more than 35 years of standing as a pillar in the fight against substance misuse, the Substance Awareness Center (SAC) of Indian River County is stepping into a new era.
The organization announced this week that it is rebranding as Thrive, a name that reflects its deep-rooted mission to foster a healthier, more resilient community free from the grip of addiction.
Thrive will continue to offer a wide range of services, from clinical care and peer support to early intervention and prevention education.
“Thrive embodies our dedication to empowering individuals, families, and the community to prevent and overcome substance misuse and achieve lives of resilience, health, and hope,” said Carrie Lester, CEO of Thrive. “This rebrand represents our ongoing growth and our commitment to making Indian River County a place where every individual can thrive.”
For over three decades, the organization has left an indelible mark on the county. It has reached more than 75,000 students with prevention education programs and provided thousands of counseling sessions each year.
The numbers speak to its impact: over 1,600 individual counseling sessions and 1,000 group and individual sessions annually, alongside a youth recidivism rate of less than 5%.
On March 25th, from noon to 1 p.m., Thrive is opening its doors to the public with a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The event offers a chance to meet the team, explore the organization’s vision, and learn how residents can get involved in its efforts to promote recovery and prevention across Indian River County.
