Treasure Coast Elementary School has been shut down due to COVID-19, according to Superintendent David Moore. The district made the decision based on a large number of COVID-19 cases at the school.
Dr. Moore said the numbers more than validate the need to separate people. In addition, some positions require staff to encounter many students every day with the potential risk of COVID-19 exposure.
The district also said that the number of employees who tested positive for COVID-19 exceeded 25 percent.
Treasure Coast Elementary School will remain closed from Sept. 1 to Sept. 13, Dr. Moore said.
