SEBASTIAN – A source working inside the county informed us that there is a construction permit submitted to build a Burger King restaurant in Roseland at the Riverwalk Shopping Center (at the corner of Roseland Road and U.S. Highway 1).
The exact location proposed is where the Bank of America building was before it was demolished.
Burger King Corp. has tried to keep this project under wraps and has denied the rumor that a new restaurant is being built in Roseland.
However, we have proof that a permit was submitted recently.
We even have the permit numbers:
- 2018081511 – ROW PERMIT FOR SWMS #82439 FOR BURGER KING SEBASTIAN. SITEWORK FOR CONSTRUCTION
- 2018081088 – INSTALL 4 WALL SIGNS 1 MONUMENT 1 CLEARANCE BAN 1 DRIVEWAY CANOPY
- 2018071061 – COMMERCIAL – BURGER KING
Generally speaking, there may be reasons why Burger King denied the rumor. They are moving into new territory, next to McDonald’s and across the street from Checkers, and probably didn’t want to acknowledge this publically. Wendy’s is also just down the road.
Keep in mind that these are permits applied for, but have not been approved.
It’s interesting that while the company denied that any franchise or restaurant was being built at a new location in Sebastian or Roseland, they were already submitting the construction permits.
