Albert J. Drumheller

Albert Joseph Drumheller passed away peacefully on February 11, 2022, in Sebastian, FL. He was Born on October 20, 1948, in Shenandoah, PA.

Albert is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Loomis Drumheller, his son, Albert Drumheller and wife Susanne of Tampa, Florida; his daughter Jennie Drumheller and her companion Joe Lutz, his granddaughter Danielle Rowe of Los Angeles, CA; and grandsons Ryan, Sam, and Ben of Tampa, FL.

Through marriage, he extended his love to his wife’s children, Jason Welcker of Sebastian, FL, and Dr. Kelly Vernon and her husband James of Belleview, Fl, and grandsons Ryan Vernon, Adam Vernon, granddaughters Reagan Vernon and Angelica Krause of Belleview, FL.

Albert is the son of the late Archie F. and Rose (Ketchell) Drumheller. He was preceded in death by his sisters Sandra Halford, Dorothy Fronk and Patricia Nevadomsky, all of Shenandoah, PA.

He is survived by his sisters Rose Bulvin, brother-in-law Jack, Sister Cathy Bindie, and brother Archie Drumheller, all of Shenandoah, PA. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Albert attended Shenandoah High School, graduating in 1967. He enlisted in the US Army and was accepted to the Military Police Training Academy. He served his country with distinction from 1968-1984. He served in Thailand during the Vietnam War for 15 months, then was transferred to Germany for 4 years of service as a military criminal investigator. He was awarded several Army Commendation medals with oak leaf clusters for distinguished and meritorious service to his country.

During his service, he advanced his criminal justice skills with several courses, including Advanced MP NCO training, and he attended the FBI Law Enforcement Officer Training in Washington, DC.

He returned to Shenandoah upon his honorable discharge from the US Army and became a police officer in his local area. He retired after 20 years of civilian police work as the Chief of Police for West Mahoney Township.

Al had a great sense of humor, loved Disney World, Horror Night at Universal in Florida, and was especially proud to watch his son and his grandsons play baseball. He enjoyed fishing, movies, reading, and all things Halloween. He loved living in Florida, enjoyed living close to the river, the fresh seafood, the playful dolphins, as well as the wildlife sightings.

There will be no service at the express request of Albert. He would wish to be remembered as a fair and honest man that did the right thing for the right reason.
