VERO BEACH – Beatrice Mary Nicolace, 93, died peacefully on May 15.
She was born in Providence, Rhode Island and was a seasonal resident of Vero Beach for many years before moving to Vero full time with her husband and son in 1978, coming from Warwick, Rhode Island.
In her younger years, she met her husband at the candy store where she worked, then worked at Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Providence, RI, and for decades was a tireless housekeeper for many families. Truly the Energizer Bunny.
Long before the Food Network came into being, she could cook like a Master Chef and was famous for her Italian meat sauce. But the occupation she most excelled at was being a loving mom and grandma, taking great pleasure in helping to raise her two grandchildren. She also was a devoted wife and was married to Edward Nicolace, Sr. for 67 years before his passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Nicolace, Sr., mother Mary Carr, and sisters Noreen and Lucille. Survivors include her son Edward Nicolace, Jr., daughter-in-law Maureen Jahns Nicolace, granddaughter Cassandra, and grandson Edward, III, all of Vero Beach, and brothers John Lang, Carlo Parillo, and sister Georgann Barrett, all of Rhode Island.
