David L. ‘Grumpy’ Wayment passed unexpectedly on March 16, 2024, while a patient at Advent Health in Orlando, FL.
David was born March 20, 1953, in Aurora Rural, Colorado. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Leslie, and his son Kenneth. He is also survived by his sister Kate, her husband and children, and his brother Robert, his wife and his children.
David and his family moved to Sebastian in 2000 and was known to only wear Grumpy Dwarf T-Shirts since then. David was very active in Sebastian Soccer and the Sebastian Clambake Festival. He was the owner of Riverview Coffee, Tea & Books, and AA Beads & More. David was happiest when teaching, whether it was stained glass, silversmithing, or other forms of jewelry making. He was an active member of the Canaveral Mineral & Gem Society in Melbourne. He was a Past President of the regional Southeast Federation of Mineralogical Societies and the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies, as well as a National Judge for Jewelry and Lapidary shows.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 27th, from 4PM to 9PM at CC’s Place and Riverview Coffee, Tea & Books, both at 482 US Highway 1 in Sebastian. All are invited to come and help us celebrate his remarkable life that ended much too soon. The dress code is Grumpy T-shirts of course.
