Edward Gilmore (Ed, Eddie to his family), owner of EDWARD GILMORE CUSTOM PAINTING, passed away on 1/23/24 at the age of 67. He was surrounded by family and loved ones.
Ed was born in Philadelphia to the late Edward A. Gilmore Sr. and the late Ilda Tomase and spent his formative years in Chester County Pa. He graduated from Henderson High School in West Chester.
Ed moved to Sebastian in the early 90s and quickly embraced a Florida lifestyle. Easy to talk to and quick with a joke or a smile, Ed made countless friends and always felt that Sebastian was his home.
His skill and proficiency in his business earned him the trust of his many clients. He loved fishing and attending art festival.
Ed will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his son Nicholas Gilmore. He is survived by his son Anthony Gilmore, his sisters Kathleen Gilmore-Gregory (Bob) and Donna Kostesich (John), and his brother Steven Gilmore (Laura nee Spilman). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones. He is sorely missed by his dogs Blu and Sydney.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, clinicians, nurses and doctors at Mayo Clinic for their care. And the amazing people of Vitas Hospice Care.
A Celebration of Life is planned at Marsh Landing in Fellsmere on Saturday 2/24/24 at 11:00 a.m., where we encourage attendees to share their best Ed stories.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to H.A.L.O. No-kill Rescue in Sebastian or to your local animal shelter in Ed’s Name.
