Harold “Fred” Reichert, Jr., age 68, passed away on 6/20/2024 from a long battle with frontal temporal dementia.  He died at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL, surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 10/13/1955 to Harold F., Sr. and Theodora Reichert, both of which predeceased him.  He is survived by his wife, Sheri Reichert, and his 3 children – Harold F. Reichert, III of Sebastian, Rachel Reichert and her husband Dustin Crosson of Sarasota, and Christina Reichert and her husband Jason Edwards of Ft. Lauderdale.

He is also survived by his sister, Sharron Kolstedt and her husband Don along with his grandchildren – Harvey Edwards and Maeve Crosson and nephews and nieces.

Raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Fred graduated from Lauderdale High and Broward Community College School of Business. He worked in construction until 1983 when he took over his father’s business, Freddie’s Anchor Bar.  He built that business successfully until he retired from there in 2001 and moved to Sebastian.

Harold opened the UPS Store in Sebastian and then moved into the real estate business as a licensed realtor.

He enjoyed boating, fishing, jet skiing, and golf as hobbies. His lifelong passion was cars, and he owned many Ford Mustangs and Shelbys, which he enjoyed showing and racing.

A Celebration of Life BBQ will be held on 8/4/2024 at the Sebastian Community Center on Central Ave. from 2-5 p.m.  Please contact Sheri if you plan to attend at sheri.reichert55@gmail.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VNA Hospice of Vero Beach, who served as angels in caring for him and his family to the end… a wonderful organization.
