Jerome “Jerry” Joseph Boutot, 84, of Barefoot Bay, Florida, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL, after a short illness.
Born October 31, 1939 in Stockholm, Maine, Jerry, was a son of the late Ludivine (Michaud) Boutot and Romeo Boutot.
He and his family moved to Connecticut when he was 10 years old, where he attended schools in Southington before joining the United States Army, where he completed his education.
Jerry served proudly as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, from 1962 to 1964.
He was employed by General Electric in Plainville, Connecticut, before retiring in 1996 after 36 years of service.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Boutot; and four sisters, Geraldine Soucy, Charlene Albert, Geneva St. Arnauld & Cecile Zantow; and four brothers, Roland Boutot, Gerald Boutot, Robert Boutot & Donald Boutot.
He is survived by his loving children, Michelle (Keith) Boislard, Eric (Leslie) Boutot, Nicolle Dougherty (Rich), and Danielle (Erik) Johnson; eight grandchildren that he adored and was so proud of, Adam, Jacob, Rachel, and Abigail Boislard, Natalie (Matt) Manner and Colleen Boutot, and Allison and Nathan Johnson; siblings, Ramona (Maurice) DellaVecchia and Galen (Elaine) Boutot; his special friend and companion Nancy Loichytz; and many other loving family & friends.
Prayer Services will be held on Friday, January 19, at 2:00 p.m. at Strunk Funeral Home’s Sebastian Chapel, 1623 North Central Avenue, Sebastian, FL 32958. The family will receive guests prior to services starting at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Health First – Melbourne, 1131 W. New Haven Ave, Melbourne, FL 32904, or Meals on Wheels.
The family would like to thank the staff at Melbourne Terrace Rehab Center, as well as the staff at Holmes Regional Medical Center and Hospice of Health First, for the care they provided our father during his illness.
