Kerry Leslie Manning, 71, of Silver Lake, NH and Sebastian, FL died peacefully at his home surrounded by family on June 29th, 2023.
The son of Mary and Leslie Manning, Kerry grew up in Portsmouth, NH and was a beloved member of the community. Kerry graduated from Portsmouth High School, where he excelled at basketball, and attended UNH where he was a member of Sigma Beta, and graduated with honors.
Silver Lake was his peaceful spot, where he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and friends. He and his wife, JoAnn, built a beautiful home that they cherished and filled with many happy memories. Kerry was a businessman: owning a dealership and restaurant, a master carpenter- building houses in Rye, Greenland, and Portsmouth, and most recently a day trader.
Kerry and JoAnn had also made a home in Sebastian, Florida, where they have made wonderful friends, and enjoyed playing golf and spending time with truly wonderful people. Kerry and JoAnn were best friends as well as partners. Through skiing Kerry taught his daughters to be strong and always joked that he wanted them to be stronger than any man they met.
Kerry was also a life-long member of the Creek AC and the Elks. Kerry’s sense of humor is legendary. He was always ready for an adventure or to lend a helping hand. He will be remembered as a true friend, loving father, grampy, and a cherished husband. We have been truly blessed to have him in our lives and will miss him terribly.
Kerry is survived by his wife, JoAnn Manning, his daughters; Katie Peyser, Allison Barrett, and Jennifer Cilmi, their partners, and five grandchildren. The family will hold a private ceremony.
