VERO BEACH – Nora May Smith, 90, of Vero Beach, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, at her home. Nora was born Aug. 10, 1927, in Fords, N.J., to the late Nels Kistrup and Christina Samsoe Kistrup. She moved to Vero Beach in 1991 from Lisle, Ill.
She had been a school teacher prior to her retirement.
Nora was a longtime member of Christ By The Sea United Methodist Church in Vero Beach where she had served on the church council, finance Committee and endowment committee, and volunteered in the church office.
She was a member of the United Methodist Women for numerous years. She was a member of AAUW, and an avid bridge player and golfer.
Survivors include her children, Daniel (Marie) Smith, of Santa Rosa Beach, Linda S. Becker, of Indian Harbor Beach, and Barry Richard (Deborah) Smith, of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Alan Smith.

A committal service celebrating her life will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 7, at Christ By The Sea United Methodist Church Memorial Garden.
