Roxie Parker Hall (77) passed away at her home in Sebastian, Florida on Friday, October 18, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Roxie was the devoted wife of George “Marty” Hall for more than 59 years. Together since the seventh grade, they built a full, vibrant life and a wonderful tightknit family. Roxie’s family was her greatest joy.
With her closest friend, Annice Yeary, Roxie taught 5 th and 6 th grade for more than 25 years in Cobb and Cherokee counties, Georgia. She touched numerous children with her clear and gentle instruction as well as her compassion and encouragement.
After retirement, she devoted herself to Marty and the family. She was the perfect example of love and selflessness. She so enjoyed helping to raise the grandkids and cruising with the family. She was the heart of our family.
In 2013, she and Marty moved to Sebastian to be closer to their youngest grandchildren. They embraced Sebastian as their new home, joining the Presbyterian Church and merging with the Van De Voordes and many others into an extended family.
Roxie is survived by her husband, George M. Hall; her siblings, Patricia Johnson, Mike Parker, and Pam Parker, her daughter, Michon Hall Mitchell and her husband, George Mitchell, her son, Martin Hall and his wife, Cynthia VanDeVoorde Hall, and her grandchildren Hunter Mitchell and his wife Helen S. Mitchell, Lucy Mitchell, Julianna Hall and Eleanor Hall.
The family would like to thank Roxie’s tender and loving caregivers and the Indian River VNA.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church of Sebastian at 1405 Louisiana Avenue with internment immediately following at the Sebastian Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service at 10:00am.
