SEBASTIAN – The Crab Stop of Vero Beach may be opening an additional restaurant at the Salty’s Bar & Grill location in Sebastian.

This comes after Salty’s closed a few weeks ago when the owner decided to retire.

According to sources familiar with the transaction, the property was purchased by an investor who has ties to Mr. Manatees. Sources tell us that the location may soon be leased to The Crab Stop of Vero Beach.

We then contacted The Crab Stop owner, Ellis Buckner, to get the details, but he wasn’t ready to give any information about the tentative restaurant.

“We are still working out the details,” Buckner told Sebastian Daily.

Buckner said he wasn’t ready to comment about the Sebastian location yet, but he’ll be ready to announce it in a week or two.

The building in Sebastian is located next to Captain Hiram’s on Indian River Drive, across from the Oyster Pointe & Oyster Bay Resort. It is one of the best waterfront spots in Sebastian, with an incredible view and atmosphere.

The Crab Stop is a franchise from Daytona Beach, Florida. There’s also a big one in Orlando that features “All You Can Eat Crab Legs” from time to time.

The Crab Stop in Vero Beach has an outstanding menu that people enjoy. They are known for homemade meals, including lobster bisque, clam chowder, and their signature garlic crabs.

Additionally, they offer blue crabs Maryland-style, traditionally steamed live, seasoned with the restaurants’ own spice mixture instead of Old Bay seasoning.

According to The Crab Stop website, all garlic crabs are cleaned, coated with a spicy secret seasoning mix and slathered with garlic butter.

For people who do not eat crabs, they also have fried fish sandwiches served with a choice of sides: corn fritters, garlic rice, corn coblets, hush puppies, sausage, red potatoes, coleslaw, garlic eggs and conch fritters.

Many people believe The Crab Stop is the best seafood restaurant in Vero Beach.

The Crab Stop of Vero Beach has done very well, and the restaurant reviews on Google give it a 4.8 rating (1 through 5).

“Been through most of the restaurants in Vero and I’ve gotta say this is probably my favorite. The staff [is] friendly and very accommodating. Their recommendations were perfect, and the food was insane. Snow crab was great, potatoes and corn were solid,” one reviewer wrote.

“Our first visit, and it couldn’t have been better! The crabs are delicious, but as soon as you walk in you know, you are in a place that is about love. They love their food, they love their co-workers, and they love their guests,” another reviewer wrote.

If The Crab Stop is opening another restaurant in Sebastian, this is good news for locals who are looking to dine at a specialty seafood restaurant.
