Last month, Sebastian Charter Junior High School (SCJH) celebrated a resounding success with its “Kaleidoscope of Voices” concert.
This debut performance featured a collaboration with talented singers from Stetson University and Martin County High School, captivating a full house at the Sebastian River High School Performing Arts Center.
The concert showcased a diverse array of seasonal selections, marking a significant milestone for the school’s newly established choral program. Launched in August, this program is open to all students, regardless of their prior experience, and has witnessed remarkable growth.
With over 75 singers already involved in the fall semester and more joining for the spring, the program’s popularity is evident.
“We’re all back to school and work this week, so dates for things should definitely start getting finalized here soon,” Ethan Kinkle, Choir Director and Music Teacher at SCJH, told Sebastian Daily.
The choir’s calendar includes exciting upcoming performances.
In March, they will participate in the annual music performance assessment alongside other Treasure Coast bands, choirs, and orchestras. The choir is also scheduled to hold its “Spring Sing” concert in May.
Sebastian Daily will announce the confirmed dates for both events as soon as they are available.
