The Sebastian River High School (SRHS) football coaching staff has recognized seniors Kieran Bartee and Xavier Marshall as their Spotlight Players of the Week, acknowledging their exceptional performance and dedication to the team.

Xavier Marshall #21

Xavier Marshall

A 5’11” safety with a 4.07 GPA, Xavier Marshall has been a dedicated football player since the age of 4. His passion for the sport has led him to pursue a college football career after graduation.

Beyond the gridiron, Marshall enjoys a variety of hobbies, including playing guitar, fishing, drawing, building things, and spending quality time with his family. One of his favorite high school memories was a memorable trip to The Villages during his sophomore year.

Marshall’s journey to success has been fueled by the unwavering support of his loved ones. “I want to give a shout-out to my mom, who has been there for me from the start and always encourages me to strive for greatness,” Marshall shared with Sebastian Daily. He also expressed gratitude for his brothers, Austin and Hiram, his stepdad, and his barber, DJ.

Coach Perry anticipates Marshall’s senior season to be his most impressive yet. “Xavier Marshall has been a four-year player in our program and a three-year starter,” Perry said. “We expect his senior season to be his best. He’s a student-athlete who approaches academics with the same intensity as he does his opponents. Xavier has trusted our process, and we appreciate his hard work on the field and in the classroom.”

Kieran Bartee #4

Kieran Bartee

Senior Kieran Bartee is a 6 ft tall wide receiver and cornerback with a 3.1 GPA. After graduating high school in 2025, he plans to pursue a career as a mechanic.

Bartee’s passion for football began at the age of 4 when he joined the Sebastian Sharks Youth League as a defensive back and wide receiver.

His favorite high school memory was also the teams trip to the Villages.

One of his most cherished high school memories was the team’s trip to The Villages. “My favorite memory would have to be my sophomore year when we went to The Villages and Coach Freeman came into one of our rooms and started joking with everyone,” Bartee told Sebastian Daily.

Outside of football, Bartee enjoys listening to music and spending time with his friends.

“I want to shout out to my family for always being there and providing me with everything I need to succeed on and off the field,” he said. “I also want to thank Coach Freeman and Coach Perry for giving me an opportunity since I was a freshman and ensuring that I was doing well in school. And of course, a big shout out to my team, my girlfriend, and her family.”

Coach Perry had nothing but positive things to say about this young athlete. “Kieran Bartee, is four player in our program. I smile as I have watched him develop from just wanting to be a part of the program, to wanting to be an impact in the program. In the four years I watched him become more of a vocal leader over the summer. Looking for him to take this new found maturity into the season and becoming impactful player he can become for our football program,” Perry stated.

This week’s home game against Mount Dora High School will kick off at 7 PM. The Sebastian Sharks Youth Football and Cheerleading League will be honored as they run onto the field before the game.
