After some lengthy discussions between Sebastian City Manager Paul Carlisle and Brightline, both east and west intersections at Sebastian Blvd will be closed for two weeks starting Monday, February 28, 2022.
Carlisle told Sebastian Daily that he asked Brightline only to close one intersection at a time, relaying his concerns of traffic congestion. However, the railroad said doing that could delay the project even longer.
However, Indian River County agreed to work with the City of Sebastian with signal timing at intersections to allow more time to get traffic off the small roads faster.
Carlile highly recommends all motorists use either Roseland Road or CR-510 instead of roads such as Main Street. Using the smaller roads could cause even more traffic congestion.
The signal timing at Roseland Road, CR-510, and other roads will help facilitate traffic movement.
Please be patient and kind to fellow motorist Sebastian.
