After Weekend Storms, Coastal Flood Advisory Continues

Dry conditions after weekend storms.

After the weekend thunderstorms in Florida, Indian River and Brevard counties are still under a flood advisory until Tuesday afternoon, with strong winds anticipated to last until Thursday.

The National Weather Service warns, “Coastal flooding is occurring or imminent. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert for rising water and take appropriate action to protect life and property.”

On Monday afternoon, as we drove along Indian River Drive, the water levels were notably high, reaching the grass’s brink. Some docks are underwater, and sea conditions are rough.

Sea Levels along Indian River Drive were high on Monday.

For this week, expect daytime highs around 85 degrees and nighttime lows near 72. Winds will peak at 10 to 15 mph on Tuesday, then lessen to 5 to 10 mph. The prevailing wind direction will be from the northeast, with a 30% chance of rain.

Sebastian Daily will publish its fishing report shortly.
