Boaters
It’s a great week for boating until Wednesday afternoon, when windy conditions return. We could see gusts as high as 20 mph through Saturday.
Also, the fishing has been great, and we’ll have more information posted soon in our Sebastian Inlet Fishing Report.
- Monday – East winds 5 to 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 feet. A dominant period of 6 seconds. A moderate chop on the Intracoastal waters. Chance of showers.
- Tuesday – West winds 5 to 10 knots becoming northeast in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 feet. A light chop on the Intracoastal waters.
- Wednesday – Northeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 3 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet.

“Boating conditions will remain favorable through at least Tuesday, then deteriorate in the latter half of the week,” the National Weather Service said.
It’s all about the high winds from Wednesday through Saturday, which can cause choppy waters.
Last Friday, the weather service issued a Fire Weather Watch in Sebastian due to dry conditions. Luckily, there were no fires.
We need rain because the dry conditions and high winds are not a good combination.
