There is a flood watch for Sebastian and other areas, including Vero Beach, Fellsmere, Micco, Barefoot Bay, Grant, and Malabar until 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
“Numerous bands of showers and scattered storms will produce heavy rainfall today through Tuesday morning. Widespread rainfall amounts of 4 to 6 inches and isolated higher amounts up to 8 to 10 inches possible,” The National Weather Service said.
The heavy rainfall will have the potential to cause flooding on local roadways and in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
The rain will be with us all day Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before clearing up on Thursday. The highs will be near 80 degrees, overnight lows near 72.
While there will be heavy rainfall, we don’t expect hail or tornado conditions.
