The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a new low-pressure system forming in the western Caribbean Sea. There’s a 50 percent chance of formation during the next 7 days.
While it could take a northward turn next week, its exact track remains uncertain at this time. Some weather models show the system taking a similar track as Hurricane Milton, others show the system dissipating. It’s very early in the forecast to predict.
“This system is expected to move slowly westward during the next few days, and environmental conditions appear conducive for gradual development. A tropical depression could form late this week or this weekend while meandering over the western Caribbean Sea,” NHC said in a statement.
The 2024 Hurricane Season officially concludes on November 30th.
