The National Weather Service (NWS) says a tropical wave is moving across Florida today, bringing a 60% chance of rain for Monday and Tuesday in areas in and around Sebastian.

Highs this week will be around 90 degrees Fahrenheit, with lows near 77 degrees. Easterly winds are expected at 5 to 10 mph.

Heat Advisory Issued

The NWS warns of extremely hot and humid conditions this week, with a peak heat index reaching 103 to 107 degrees Fahrenheit on Monday and Tuesday. This poses a moderate to major heat risk for the area.

The NWS also advises of a moderate risk of rip currents along the beaches today and tomorrow. Beachgoers are urged to swim near a lifeguard and never enter the ocean alone.
