It feels like Christmas with these cooler temperatures in Sebastian, Florida. We got the details about our weekend forecast.
We have rain coming, but it shouldn’t interrupt any daytime activities. There’s a 70 percent chance of rain on Saturday night and a slight chance on Sunday.
Here are the daily temperatures for this weekend (Highs/Lows):
- Friday: 70/57
- Saturday: 73/57
- Sunday: 68/52
- Monday: 73/63
In Sebastian, the winds will be 5 to 10 mph on Friday, increasing to 10 to 15 mph on Sunday and Monday with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Our coldest day is Sunday, but while things will warm up a bit early next week, the temperatures will drop again by Thursday with a high of 71. The rain returns on Tuesday.
It’s a good idea to have a portable umbrella handy as these cold fronts will continue to bring rain this time of year.
There’s a high rip current risk until next Thursday along the shorelines of Indian River County and Brevard County. Rip currents can sweep swimmers away from the shore into deeper water, including the experienced. Entering the surf is highly discouraged.
“Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags, and signs,” the National Weather Service said.
Boating conditions will become hazardous again into late Saturday night through Sunday as northerly winds increase and build seas up to 6 to 7 feet.
Despite the weather, there are still things to do in Sebastian. Check out our fishing report for information on sheepshead, snook, jack, and flounder at the Inlet.
