Tropical Storm Elsa is currently 55 miles from Key West, moving northwest at 12 mph with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph.
In Sebastian, 1/2 to 1 inch of rain is possible from Elsa, with winds at 15 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast, with a high of 87 degrees, overnight low of 76. We can expect rain and winds from now until Wednesday night as Tropical Storm Elsa passes Florida.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) stated that a Hurricane Watch is possible near Big Bend, Florida, as Elsa moves into open waters in the Gulf of Mexico.
“A Hurricane Watch has been issued for a portion of the west-central and Big Bend coast of Florida, where hurricane conditions are possible tonight and early Wednesday. Tropical storm conditions are expected across portions of the Florida Keys and much of the west coast of the state where Tropical Storm Warming is in effect,” the NHC said in a statement.
We are not expected to get any hurricane watches or severe tropical storm conditions from Tropical Storm Elsa in Sebastian, Florida.
