SEBASTIAN – Invest 92L, a low-pressure system, was supposed to drift over Sebastian and Vero Beach this week, but then it decided to go west and around Florida.
As Invest 92L continues to move west to northwest, there’s a good chance that Sebastian and Vero Beach may escape its showers and thunderstorms.
The weekend, starting on Friday, calls for showers and thunderstorms throughout the weekend, ending late Sunday.
However, we have a hunch that things could improve by tonight as a slow front will make it possible for Invest 92L to move farther north, putting Daytona and Jacksonville in its path when it crosses Florida.
So far, we believe our weekend in Sebastian and down to Vero Beach is looking better.
According to the National Weather Service, they are now calling for heavy rain and possible flooding near the Florida peninsula during the next few days.
All signs point to rain in the north as Invest 92L begins to make an eastward movement, north of Sebastian and Vero Beach.
We’ll keep you posted on further developments.
Prayers going out to our friends and family in Texas as Tropical Storm Harvey approaches.
