The National Weather Service has issued a Significant Weather Advisory for our area until 4:30 p.m., which includes Grant, Micco, Sebastian, Wabasso Beach, and Vero Beach.
Several storms passed through our area at around 3:15 p.m., however, the radar is showing a few storms between Sebring and Indiantown that are heading northeast towards Sebastian and Vero Beach.
“Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Sebastian Inlet State Park and also over Port Saint Lucie, moving east to northeast at 15 mph. Additional strong storms will be possible from Indian River southward through Martin counties into late afternoon from boundary collisions,” the NWS said in a statement.
Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
Expect rain and thunderstorms to continue this evening.
We’ll have a forecast on Friday to talk about the weekend.
