Two tropical disturbances in the Atlantic could have an impact on our weather here in Sebastian in the coming week.
There is a tropical wave near the Bahamas that is slowly steering away from us as it moves north. We will get some rain from this disturbance, but not enough to cancel weekend plans at this time.
A second tropical wave has growing concerns as it moves west at 15 mph in the Atlantic. There is no threat to Florida or Sebastian at this time, but forecasters are monitoring the disturbance.
“A tropical depression could form by early next week several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles,” the National Weather Service said.
The chance of a tropical depression forming during the next five days is 50 percent.
As of today, there is every indication that this tropical wave will continue its track to the west. We will monitor the disturbance and publish updates as they become available.
