Tropical Storm Jerry formed overnight and is forecast to be a hurricane by Friday. There is no threat of a tropical storm or hurricane for Sebastian at this time.
Any impacts from the storm in Sebastian will likely be rain.
The current projected path shows a turn to the north on Saturday, which will miss the Bahamas and Florida. Most of the spaghetti models are showing a northern track by this weekend.
Jerry becomes the tenth named storm of the 2019 season.
The tropical storm is moving west-northwest near 13 mph and is expected to gain forward speed over the next few days. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles from the center.
“Further strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days, and Jerry is expected to become a hurricane by the time it moves near the northern Leeward Islands,” the National Hurricane Center said.
Sebastian Daily will continue to monitor Tropical Storm Jerry this week as it moves past Florida.
