We may be seeing a lot of rain from Tropical Storm Eta in Sebastian, but we don’t think we’ll get much more than just rain.
Eta is currently near Nicaragua and is expected to make a turn towards Florida.
“Eta is forecast to regain tropical storm strength before it moves across portions of Cuba and approaches southern Florida this weekend. While it is too soon to determine the exact timing, magnitude, and location of possible impacts from wind and rainfall, interests in Cuba, southern Florida and the Florida Keys should monitor the progress of Eta through the week,” the National Hurricane Center said in a statement.
Yesterday, it appeared as if Eta was going to come upon Florida’s east coast, but that has since changed. Eta is now expected to move along the west coast in the Gulf of Mexico.
Sebastian has been fortunate this year during the hurricane season. Most of the storms have traveled west, bypassing Florida because of high shear from the north.
The 2020 Hurricane Season ends Nov. 30, 2020.
